The Crummy Liar

I had a ton of fun with this animation, it was interesting to animate the subtext of someone who has a secret. Thankfully I have tons of personal experience with being a terrible liar. Below is the original animatic, I'm happy with how much it changed in the final!

Story based on real life events.

Cocoons

You know, challenging as this was I enjoyed the concept of the little caterpillar grandma knitting up in her tree house.

Process work - I had an interesting time trying to merge hand-made objects, like the sofa and pillows with the more organic elements of the tree. In an earlier version it seemed too man-made.

Oh I though you were someone else...

I just can't DO it captain. I don't have the POWAH! Here's Ace Ventura for my celebrity caricature project. Not going to lie - it was a good excuse to frame through his movies.

Waiting Assignment - Coppers

Here's my waiting assignment, the purpose was to focus on subtle animation and acting. I also learned that yes, INDEED picking things up and putting them down is one of the hardest things to do in CG animation...enjoy! Rig provided by Ringling.

Crazy Times

Summer is almost over! Been trying to draw more with the precious little time I have left - mostly focusing on line quality, design and rendering techniques. You learn a lot from drawing great characters...and I needed an excuse to draw Samus.

Also adopted some new family members in Anaheim for Siggraph 2013!

HONEY I'M HOME

I'm still alive! This summer has been wild; I've been animating like crazy and getting prepared to go to California to volunteer for Siggraph! Mostly I've been studying line quality, shape design, and style (top three digital drawings). I'm thankful I have the time to breathe and explore. Also, I'll be having a huge animation update soon ~
