Summercise 1 - Ball Bounce

I'm going to be busy this summer animating until my fingers fall off. Thought I'd keep my personal tradition of animating a ball bounce! I felt like I had more control over my curves this time, and read about a few tips and tricks from How to Cheat in Maya 2013. There will be more assignments to come soon!

Lifeguard - Sit Stand

So the big project this semester was to practice character design, modeling, rigging, and body mechanics. I had a ton of fun with Shela and learned even more about interesting arcs, timing, poses, the works. Was inspired mostly by the cartoony style of Hotel Transylvania. Also, I'm posting my super embarrassing process. It's kind of like your mom showing strangers your baby pictures...oh well.

And the final result...

Lifeguard on Duty!

As promised, here's my sit stand character design! She's a very timid and nervous person, so her job gives her lots of anxiety. Should be fun, hope you like it :)

I'm Not Dead...sort of.

Just finished the infamous cemetery project, my first experience with lighting and compositing. Overall I think the result was decent - could have gone better, but at least I learned the do's and dont's. Be on the look out for Sit Stand character designs/sculptures and Artie animation!

Break Stuff

So I actually studied & worked through break and it felt awesome. My biggest goal was to tame the enraged spagetti monster (formally known as the graph editor). After lots of tests and practice I feel more comfortable and learned the way of the wavy line.

EAT YER HAGGIS

Uh hi, so I decided to actually sit down an render something, it's a Christmas miracle! I've wanted to work on this guy for a while now, posted some of the process. A friend asked me what his name is...I think Haggis is appropriate. It's a weird way to celebrate but hey, happy holidays!
